What is writing 39A?
The main goal of Writing 39A:Disney & Gender is to answer this question:
How do Disney films contribute to the construction of society's values and norms about gender roles? Have these values changed over time?
To do so, we are asked to analyze gender roles of characters within movies from Disney as well as gender roles exists in the current or past society. In the meanwhile, we are (hopefully) developing skills about reading, writing, communicating, and most importantly, the "habits of mind".
